Dallas was a massive hit all over the world for 14 memorable seasons, and the decision to bring the TV show back to our screens after an 11-year hiatus has proven to be a huge success, after it received the highest ratings for the launch of a scripted series on cable TV this year in its US premiere.

The show features a combination of classic characters from the original series and a crop of new talent who are looking to take the series to the next level.

Returning stars include Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing, Linda Gray as Sue Ellen Ewing and Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing.

Most notably the newest stars of Dallas include Jesse Metcalfe as Christopher Ewing and his on-screen cousin, Josh Henderson who plays John Ross Ewing.

While critics gave a mixed response to the premiere episode, which saw Christopher return to the Ewing clan to get married, an average of 6.8 million viewers tuned in.

Channel 5 will be screening the new series this September.
