Courteney Cox has responded to her estranged husband David Arquette’s divorce petition by filing for divorce herself and requesting to drop the name ‘Arquette’.
The star was apparently “not surprised” when her husband of 11 years requested a divorce earlier this week, following their split in October 2010 and seemed upbeat as she dined out in Malibu with their eight year-old daughter Coco.
The Friends star filed the paperwork within a minute of each other last Friday according to TMZ. They both cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the end of their marriage and both are seeking custody for their daughter.
Clearly there was some preparation for the papers, between the couple who have stayed amicable since their split as both listed Dec 31 2011 as their official separation date in court papers despite spliting a year before.
Courteney Cox is also looking to drop the Arquette from the end of her name which she has been known by since the couple wed in 2001.
