And so the saga of Lindsay Lohan's car crash continues... as earlier today the other driver involved in Friday's collision blamed the troubled the actress for the incident that saw Lindsay's rented Porsche get totalled.
Now though Lindsay has waded in, insisting it was a mechanical fault on her car, not bad driving that led to her driving into the 18 wheeler truck.
The 'Mean Girls' actress was treated in hospital for minor injuries after the crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles. The truck driver has since told Tmz.com the accident happened after Lohan swerved into the lane he was occupying and crashed into his vehicle from behind:
"I was already in that lane. The witnesses that came and left me their information said this woman was flying on the freeway... She came over and hit the back of the truck. There's even a video... of this whole incident. I was going about 40 miles an hour... I felt a nice-size jolt."
Now a friend of Lindsay's has revealed the actress slammed on the brakes when she realised a collision was imminent, but the Porsche failed to slow down and she was powerless to prevent the collision.
Lohan is co-operating fully with police, according to her spokesman Steve Honig who says: "She has answered all their questions and provided them with everything they have asked for."
