The series may have ended but the drama hasn't stopped for the cast of 'Made in Chelsea,' as it's revealed that two cast members were embroiled in a fight at a preview screening!
Kimberley Garner has reportedly been axed from the hit Channel 4 show following a bust-up with co-star and real life mate Harriet Loder. The row happened at a preview screening for the cast at a private member's club in London two weeks ago.
The Daily Mail reports that show sources witnessed Kimberley confronting Harriet at the party over Harriet's comment in the show that her friend was still in a relationship with her ex-boyfriend when she began dating her MIC co-star Richard.
As fellow cast-members lookeed on the two women had to be physically separated by producers.
Harriet has told reporters her side of the story, commenting:
"I think it had been brewing for some time. Everyone saw. Kimberley was unhappy with what was shown on the programme and thought I’d gone against her and she turned her back on me."
"I voiced it quite loudly and said, 'I said it exactly how it was and I defended you,'” and she said, 'No you didn’t.' We were in a public building and there were other events going on and they didn’t want us rowing in front of other people."
"We were getting quite loud and the producer said, 'Can we all go downstairs' and we were taken downstairs. We were arguing loudly."
Harriet also revealed that she was left with a broken tooth from clenching her jaw in anger:
"You know when you grit your teeth because you’re so mad, and under the pressure it chips? I’ve got to go to the dentist and get it fixed this week.’"
The day after the incident Kimberely posted a cryptic message on her Twitter page, saying:
"Headake back, cried since I got home. How can some girls be so mean"
It's now been reported that Kim has been dropped from the show as a result of the row. The 22-year-old allegedly contacted lawyers before the episiode aired, to demand that producers have Harriet’s comments removed. Last Monday’s newly edited version saw Harriet saying instead: "We are good friends. She [Kimberley] was over and done with this [relationship] by the time she’d gone on dates with Richard [her new boyfriend]."
Talking about Kimberley’s departure, a show source told the Daily Mail:
"I think bringing in a lawyer was the final straw and the producers were quite shocked."
Meanwhile, a Channel 4 spokesman, commenting on the edited scene said:
"It’s not unusual for the channel to make ongoing editorial decisions on a programme up to transmission."
Oh the drama!
