Robert De Niro narrowly avoided being involved in a fire after his New York home was damaged in a blaze.
According to The AP, it took firefighters an hour to put out the blaze, which started on the fourth floor of the 88 Central Park West building that De Niro lives in with his wife Grace Hightower. The pair were out of the country when the fire broke out.
The Fire Department confirmed that the fire had not caused any injuries or fatalities. They are currently investigating the cause of the fire which is still unknown.
De Niro, who will soon be hitting our cinema screens in Red Lights with Cillian Murphy, lives in the area with a number of famous neighbours including Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.
De Niro was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from Bates College, Maine.
