With the Diamond Jubilee celebrations over the pressure is now on Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton to start a family and with rumours of a baby bump they may have already.
William, who turns 30 later this month, recently admitted in an interview that having children was his “main priority”.
“I'm just very keen to have a family and both Catherine and I are looking forward to having a family in the future,” he said in an interview on US Show The Jubilee Queen.
Since their wedding last April, William’s work commitments have prevented them from producing an heir.
He was half way through the intense two-year training to become a search and rescue captain in the Royal Air Force and in January the couple had to endure a six week separation when William was posted to the Falklands.
But the pressure work wise seems to be off now as news broke yesterday that William passed the two days of tests to complete his training leaving him with more time with Kate.
With no big royal commitments coming up for the couple it seems the perfect time to start a family, especially as they currently live out of the spotlight in Anglesey. Kate’s pregnancy will play a big role in William’s decision later this year as to whether he wants to leave his military career behind to concentrate on a family and his royal duties.
Those close to the prince know it is going to be a difficult choice. “William's main goal is to be a father,” a source told Now magazine.
“But at the same time he loves the thought of staying in the forces.”
When discussing the decision Wills admitted that babies came even above his career.
"I'm still trying to decide. It's a really difficult one because I really enjoy my time in the Air Force. But the pressures of my other life are building and fighting them off or balancing the two of them has proven quite difficult" .
"More importantly, I'd rather like to have children." He added.
From shots of Kate showing off a slight baby bump it seems it could be sooner than later!
