Liam Hemsworth has shared all the details of the engagement ring he proposed to Miley Cyrus with. The ‘Hunger Games’ star revealed the design of the 3.5 carat diamond ring on Twitter and couldn’t help let fans know that they are “both very happy.”
The 22 year-old actor proposed to his girlfriend of three years last week but not before asking her superstar father Billy Ray Cyrus for permission.
A very excited Liam took to Twitter to show off the 100 year-old ring, he said: “Here first pic Miley's ring: It was hand-cut around 1880 or 1890 and it’s unique and in its original form.”
“It’s a contemporary design based on vintage aesthetics. The light flashes & sparkles no matter where she moves her hand.”

While Miley’s parents are said to be thrilled at the news, they have admitted that they are hoping for a long engagement as both stars are still very young.
"They knew it was coming," a family source told RadarOnline. "Liam lived with Miley and her parents when they began dating in 2009. Billy Ray and Tish love him like a son. However, Billy Ray is concerned about how young they are and he hopes that they aren't in a rush to get married. Billy Ray hopes the engagement will be very long, but he isn't opposed to the marriage at all.“
It seems the Country and Western star doesn’t want his little girl to have the same ‘achy breaky heart’ he had following his divorce.
“Billy Ray got divorced from his first wife Cindy though and he just doesn't want Miley to go through a similar heartbreak." They added.
