Robert Pattinson was almost left empty handed at the MTV movie awards last night- in more ways than one. The actor failed to gain any nods for his recent film roles, with the coveted MTV movie award for best actor going to 'The Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson.
He also failed to turn up for the awards ceremony, leaving girlfriend Kristen Stewart to pick up the award for best screen kiss on her own. Stewart seemed slightly peturbed by her lover's absence, looking slightly worried as she told fans that Pattinson wouldn't be joining her for an onstage smooch.
If he was nervous about Stewart's seeming lack of enthusiasm, then Rob may have got a whole lot more worried when he saw Hutcherson round off a satisfactory evening by being photographed getting close to Stewart backstage.
The female star also was friendly with 'Snow White And The Huntsman' co-star Chris Hemsworth, who looked to be transferring his rugged charms from the film to reality. Stewart even asked him to help her collect her best kiss award in the absence of Pattinson.
Presenting the awards were British comedian Russell Brand, who joked about his own love troubles, reminding the crowd that the last tme he was called upon to present at an MTV awards show he met ex-wife Katy Perry.
