They may have not been crowned winners of Britain's Got Talent but it appears as though opera duo Jonathan and Charlotte have come out victorious after landing a £1 million record deal with Simon Cowell's record label, Syco.
According to the Mail Online, Simon who returned to the Britain's Got Talent judging panel this year, is now keen for 17 year-old Jonathan Antoine and 16 year-old Charlotte Jaconelli to get to work on their debut album.
Predicting that their debut album, will be “stunning”, Simon said:
“This show is designed to give people like Jonathan and Charlotte an opportunity. I think their debut album is going to be stunning.”
Crediting the experience of BGT for giving his confidence, Jonathan added: “Appearing on the show has been a huge confidence boost and I'm still pinching myself that we are actually making our album.
“Thank you to everyone for making this happen for us.”
Revealing that Simon wants Jonathan and Charlotte to release their debut album in September to coincide with the X Factor so they can perform on the show, a source told The Sun:
“Simon knows that to make money from them he needs to movie fast. Get that first album out as soon as possible before people have moved on. September is also a good time as The X Factor will be in its live stages so there is a chance to get them on the show and plug the album.”
Congrats to Jonathan and Charlotte!
