New mum Jessica Simpson is on a mission to shed her baby weight after giving birth just one month ago – and was today officially announced the new face of Weight Watchers.
The former 31-year-old singer, who has struggled with weight issues in the past, was appointed the North America ambassador for the points-based diet programme which many celebs have gone to, including Jennifer Hudson, who also fronts the campaign.
Jessica will trade ‘’yo-yo dieting for a healthier lifestyle,’’ a spokesman told the Daily Mail.
Jessica recently spoke about her newly adopted healthy lifestyle to the new edition of People magazine, in which she appears in a photo shoot with fiancé Eric Johnson and daughter Maxwell Drew.
The blonde beauty revealed that she is relying on simple meals, including shrimp with sautéed spring onions and quinoa to shed those baby weight pounds. She is also making homemade juices to help with her weight loss, including her favourite, a combination of kale, spinach, apple, ginger, romaine, celery and carrot.
Confessing how anxious she is to lose the weight, Jessica told the magazine: ''After you have your baby it's like, "Oh my God, what happened to my body... this is not me".''
Jessica had apparently planned to join Weight Watchers before she learned she was pregnant.
The star has struggled with yo-yo dieting in the past, and she is looking forward to feeling comfortable in her own skin again.
She continued: ''It would be nice to feel comfortable in a bikini, but that's not my goal. I just want to fit into jeans.''
We're sure you can do it, Jessica!
