Cheryl Cole is getting revenge on her ex-husband Ashley Cole, according to reports, through her new-found friendship with Chris Brown.
The 'Call My Name' hitmaker, who performed on The Voice this weekend, recently insisted that the world should forgive the R&B singer after he was convicted after beating up his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Cheryl, who was sensationally sacked from the X Factor USA a year a go has now come back with a bang – and while she's insisting that everyone deserves a second chance, even if they beat their loved-ones – Ashley is not getting one from her – ever again.
The Chelsea and England footballer has been desperate to win Cheryl back after the pair split up in 2010 following many claims that he had cheated on her with other women and according to Now magazine, Cheryl is using her return to the spotlight to rub salt into his wounds.
And that includes her new love for Chris Brown.
Cheryl said of Brown: "Because [Brown]'s in the limelight…he hasn't had the chance to be forgiven or to forgive himself because we haven't let him. Now that [Rihanna]'s come out and embraced him again, I think it's time we all moved on. That guy is talented as hell."
To which the 'Crawl' singer tweeted: "@cherylcole thanks for the support and believing in me as an artist!"
Ashley was left angry, and even called Cheryl about it. To which Now magazine claim she joked: “Now you know how it feels!”
“Ashley knows he can't have her. She's ready to find love again with someone who'll treat her better,” a source told the magazine.
Cheryl, 28, has already revealed that she's looking forward to the next chapter in her life – and that involves lots of children.
Talking to Observer magazine, she said: “I’d love a massive family. I’m from a big family. I’ve got 10 nieces and nephews.”
