Blur have scrapped recording sessions for a new album with producer William Orbit, it has been revealed.
The reformed band were reportedly working on a new album, backed by twitter posts from producer Prbit.
Speaking to NME, Orbit revealed: "The new stuff sounded amazing," Adding: "Then it all stopped suddenly. It was all over with Damon, and the rest of the band were like, 'is this it?'".
Orbit later added: "Blur could have been good. But Damon, brilliant and talented tho he is, is kinda a shit to the rest of Blur."
Meanwhile, Blur have announced an intimate UK tour for this August ahead of their huge London Hyde Park show.
The Britpop band will play four shows on the tour, kicking off at Margate's Winter Gardens on August 1. Continuing for two shows at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall on August 5 and 6, before finishing off at Plymouth's Pavilions on August 7.
The huge concert will take place in London's Hyde Park On August 12th 2012 and will see Blur headlining.
Bass player Alex James said: “Every one of these shows will be very special and we can’t wait to get cracking.” New Order and The Specials will also perform at the show on August 12th.
