Geri Halliwell certainly made a big entrance when she arrived at first round of X Factor auditions in Liverpool today, as the former Spice Girl climbed on top of her car and shouted through a megaphone at the assembled crowds.

According to Twitter the new X Factor guest judge wasn’t well-received and was so loudly booed that Heat magazine tweeted: “Uh-oh! The X Factor warm-up man has just told the crowd to stop booing Geri, saying ‘she's mad, anything could happen!’ YIKES! #Xfactor”

Wearing an electric blue lace mini-dress with cut out back and cream ankle boots, Geri jumped up on the car to address the hoards of X Factor hopefuls, showing a bit more than she had anticipated.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “Eek just seen geri halliwell sitting on a car at the x factor auditions showing off more than I need to see #closeyourlegs.”

Geri has previously stood in for former judge Dannii Minogue on the X Factor panel, and Simon has brought the singer back once more, this time to replace Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland, who decided to not return to the show this series.

However Geri’s appointment as a guest judge doesn’t seem to have gone down well at all, with many X Factor fans taking to Twitter to slate Simon’s choice.

One fan even tweeted Simon: “BAD decision to have geri halliwell as a judge! As if the line up wasn't bad enough already!!”

Reportedly the 39-year-old is keen to impress X Factor bosses, as if she does well in the role that could lead to a permanent spot on this series panel.

What do you think of Geri joining The X Factor?

Why Simon Cowell Called Geri Halliwell Into The X Factor:

Geri burst on to the scene in late 1996 when The Spice Girls released their debut 'Wannabe' which made it to No. 1.
