Just as the first trailer for the new James Bond movie 'Skyfall' has debuted, a former 007 George Lazenby has slammed the decision to switch the spy's iconic drink from a Martini (shaken, not stirred) to a beer.

Daniel Craig will be ordering a pint of a corporate-sponsored beer in his new movie, and the actor who played James Bond in 1969, is upset over the decision to axe the signature martini.

According to reports, the movie bosses have signed a $45 million deal with Heineken, which means that Daniel Craig will be drinking the stuff in the new film and 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' star Lazenby has said that it's sad that filmmakers will always "go where the money is".

He also told TMZ: "It's not the best beer out there, either."

Daniel Craig has defended the decision to drink beer instead of the martini, explaining that deals like they made are the only reason that they are able to fund the 007 movies.

"We have relationships with a number of companies so that we can make this movie. The simple fact is that, without them, we couldn't do it. It's unfortunate but that's how it is," he told the Huffington Post.

"This movie costs a lot of money to make, it costs as nearly as much again if not more to promote, so we go where we can."

He continued: "The great thing is that Bond is a drinker, he always has been, it's part of who he is, rightly or wrongly, you can make your own judgement about it. Having a beer is no bad thing, in the movie it just happens to be Heineken. There's a big furore about it, but it's not what the movie's about, I promise you. We haven't sold out completely."
