For this week’s challenge The Apprentice 2012 candidates are tasked with negotiating the best discounts for a daily deal website, which will see the remaining seven candidates furiously run across London trying to get deals on a wide range of products and experiences.
Lord Sugar is testing the teams’ negotiation skills, and he will be watching to see if they are able to strike the right deal, get a good discount and deliver the goods to the website all within a very tight deadline.
Obviously things don’t go to plan for Team Phoenix or Team Sterling, with Ricky Martin going up against a potential businessman who shoots down his offer for a 50% discount by telling the 26-year-old recruiter: “I wouldn’t even give you 10%.”
Another potential client tells business development manager Jade Nash: “I can’t run a business like this.”
Tempers fray as the desperate candidates have mere minutes to sign contracts, and evidently things don’t go quite to plan for the teams, as back in the boardroom a furious-looking Lord Sugar asks the assembled Apprentice contestants: “Did you understand what this task was about?”
