Peaches Geldof has recalled her terrible ordeal she had at the birth of her new son Astala. Also, how grandfather Bob Geldof is besotted with his first grandson.
Miss Geldof spoke to Hello! about how straight after the birth of her first child she was rushed to intensive care moments.
Peaches revealed that she had a Caesarean section due to breathing difficulties.
Baby Astala was then put in intensive are for a few days, where Miss Geldof says "It was the most terrifying experience, to have our tiny baby whisked away like that.”
She tells the magazine how she longed for the skin-to-skin contact and how Astala “had a lack of something called surfactant, which made it a struggle for him to breathe”.
The drama started when fiancé Tom Cohen former band member of up and coming S.C.U.M. cut the umbilical cord.
Thankfully baby ‘Astala Dylan Willow Geldof-Cohen’ made a full recovery. Grandfather, Bob Geldof is said to be besotted with his first boy within his growing family.
Peaches recalled to Hello! how Granddad Bob, took Astala aside and was so quiet. "There's this one photograph of Astala that Tom took, which Dad just loves.
''Astala's sticking two fingers up and has this really rebellious look on his face. Dad was like, 'That’s my boy!' when he saw it. He's got it as his screensaver on his phone."
Sir Bob Geldof said last week how he couldn’t come to terms with baby Astala’s name, The Daily Mail stated how Bob questioned “What’s he going to be called in school? Ass? Stella? It’s a girl’s name, let’s face it.”
Miss Geldof and her new family are all fully recovered for the traumatic experience and are set on their journey as a family and looking forward to the wedding.
Hopefully this one will last.
