Cheryl Cole And Kylie Performances Lined Up To Boost The Voice UK

With show flagging in the ratings BBC bosses are set to send for Cheryl

There are signs that The Voice UK bosses are beginning to panic over their ratings slide, with Cheryl Cole and Kylie Minogue strongly tipped to perform on the show's semi-final and final.

The Voice had begun strongly – with the Blind Audition round beating Simon Cowell's Britain's Got Talent in the ratings. However since that high point viewers have begun to desert the show, with the numbers of those watching the show dropping by two million. The Sunday results show has also fared badly, with viewers upset that it's recorded rather than live.

According to The Metro, BBC bosses are so worried that they've held crisis talks, believed to include hosting a performance from Kylie Minogue and Cheryl Cole as the show reaches its climax.

The two singers could prove controversial – as both have associations with rival show The X Factor. Cole was a judge and protege of Cowell before being controversially dropped by the mogul from the US version of the show. Minogue's sister Dannii has been left embarrassed by revelations of an affair with Cowell.

There have also been rumours that the pair could be set to replace coach Jessie J on the show's next run in a bid to ensure that the next series exceeds the high expectations the BBC had for the show.

The news that the BBC wants to reinvigorate The Voice comes as Simon Cowell aims to revamp The X Factor in heated negotiations with ITV.
