Poor Alexandra Burke has had to put on a brave face recently after reports emerged that her footballer boyfriend Jermain Defoe had cheated on her with Geordie model Laura Brown, 23.
Although the X Factor star and footballer have been dating for several months, they only went public with their relationship last week, and to add insult to injury, Jermain pre-recorded an appearance on Sky1 sports panel show A League of Their Own, where he gushed about girlfriend Alexandra.
The Sun reports the Spurs striker as saying: “Things are good. She’s been giving me some vocal lessons.”
TV bosses are frantically trying to edit the show before it airs, and are keen to remove a comment from panellist Jack Whitehall, who jokingly told Defoe: “You’ve had more a*** than the Big Brother diary room chair.”
Since the news broke of Jermain’s infidelity, Alexandra's spokespeople have refused to comment on the affair, but Alexandra cryptically uploaded a photo of her sipping red wine with her team, alongside the caption: “wine helps.”
The next day the singer followed up her last tweet with: “Wine who? #ChangingItUp #StrawberryCaipirinha,” with a smiley picture of herself sipping a tall cocktail.
