Will.i.am has already started taking advantage of being on The Voice UK by reportedly signing up the unknown acts on his team, and first up is young hopeful Jay Norton!

The Mirror alleges that Jaz Ellington will be victorious against ‘I Need A Dollar’ singer Jay Norton during the pre-recorded Voice Battle Rounds and that will.i.am will publicly try to sign Jay despite not making it through to the next stage of the show.

Jay Norton may not be a finalist in the competition, but will.i.am obviously sees potential in the young singer, wanting to manage him alongside other acts including Fergie, Cheryl Cole, Kelis and LMFAO.

It is not known whether Jay decides that he wants to be added to will.i.am’s roster of stars, but apparently BBC bosses are furious that The Black Eyed Peas star made the offer publicly in front of the live studio audience.

Jay and Jaz will be seen going head to head on tomorrow night’s show singing ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’ by Marvin Gaye, but The Voice UK editors have been instructed by producers to cut Will’s offer to Jay out because they think it makes a mockery of the show.

A Voice UK source told the Mirror: “Bosses were furious that he said in front of the audience he’d give Jay a deal. The whole point of the show is to find a talent and give them a chance, not for the judges to profit from it by signing their own acts.

"Will thinks Jay has the attributes to be a star and doesn’t want to miss out on such a special talent.”

BBC have since allegedly had stern words with The Voice UK coach and ordered him not to sign anyone until this series of the show is over. However friends close to will.i.am have said that as soon as the show finishes he will fly Jay out to LA to start recording.
