Showtime's Homeland has been one of the surprise hits of the year, gaining critical praise and viewers just when we thought that TV drama had covered the war on terror from every angle.
The series, starring Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, follows a former American soldier (Lewis) who had been held captive by terrorists in the Middle East, and the mentally unstable intelligence operative, Carrie (Danes) who has her suspicions about his loyalty.
For all those who've been won over by the show's combination of suspense, moral uncertainty and great acting, we've got good news as with the show's second series on the way we've got a sneak peak at the teaser trailer for the show.
Producer Alex Gansa confirmed to TVLine that the new season would see Carrie investigating Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban), the shadowy terrorist who was a major antagonist in the show's first season.
He said: "It would have been too far a jump to bring her back into the fold full bore, however, there are ways that she can work around the edges of the intelligence community that make sense."
Homeland will return in September for its second series, with the first series currently airing Sundays on Channel 4.
