The BRIT Awards is a night for celebration and rewarding those who have triumphed in the past 12 months of music.

However, a good awards do also has to pay tribute to those we have lost in the past 12 months too and the BRITs made sure they showed their respects towards both Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston last night.

Now, nobody wants to dwell on sad news on a party night but many fans felt that the BRITs rushed their tributes to two of the most iconic performers of their generation. Admittedly, the Whitney Houston death came as a shock and happened very recently but Amy Winehouse passed away over six months ago and many viewers were vocal in their belief that the video montages shown for both stars last night were not long enough.

Mitch Winehouse, Amy's Father who complained about the Grammys not paying tribute to his daughter, approved though.

He tweeted to say: "Thanks for your messages of love for Amy and our family. I thought the tribute was beautiful and sincere. Mitch"

But what do you think? Let us know below!
