Coldplay thanked the groups they started out competing with for retiring last night as they picked up Best Group at the BRIT Awards.
Chris Martin and co. opened the show with a colourful performance of their hit 'Charlie Brown' and later scooped the prestigious award. However, speaking backstage at the winners conference the band said that it was more a lack of competition that helped them.
"Blur have gone, so have Oasis and Radiohead don't really go in for this sort of thing so we're the only ones left on the field," said Martin.
Asked if the band had any further goals to achieve, Martin joked: "We're keen to land a big modelling contract and we're thinking of opening a theme park. A JLS theme park, we're going to do that in 2016.
