One Direction have won their first ever BRIT Award, picking up the prize for Best Single at tonight's ceremony.
The boyband fought off competition from The Wanted, Adele, Pixie Lott, JLS and more to take home the award.
Getting up on stage, Louis Tomlinson thanked the radio listeners who voted for 'What Makes You Beautiful' to win the award. Liam Payne meanwhile thanked the band's label Syco. Harry Styles shared a moment with Tinie Tempah, who handed the award to the boys.
Simon Cowell Tweeted his approval of the result, saying: "Fantastic news. Congrats @onedirection I am very proud of you"
