Former TOWIE star Amy Childs is going through a pretty tough time at the moment, having been the victim of vandalism, burglary and death threats. The star is feeling so low about being targeted because of her fame that she even compared herself to Whitney Houston!
The comparison may be fairly ridiculous, but Amy wants to show the hidden price of fame, and is one of growing number of celebrities who are the victim of Twitter death threats, stalking and harassment.
Speaking to OK! magazine the reality star confesses: “My life has become a living hell. I never knew fame could be like this. Me and my family are being terrorised. I just feel so guilty – like I have brought this upon the people I love and they don’t deserve it.”
She added: “It’s so sad and scary. I understand what happened to Whitney Houston. People are like: ‘It must be great to be famous.’ It is but they don’t know how bad things can happen.”
Although Amy lives an apparently charmed life, she revealed that her family home, where she still lives with her parents and brother, has been the target of vandals who have wrecked her home, even going so far as to attack her dogs.

Amy and cousin Harry have been the victim of Twitter death threats
Amy recalls: “I was in my house and there were these lads outside, stoning our home. I looked outside and it was pitch black, someone had smashed my car with a For Sale board.”
The people involved were never caught, and just a week later her house was burgled, which was when her dogs were attacked.
“Our home was absolutely trashed. Our telly and laptops were got nicked,” she said. “What scared me was that I’d been in the house and just left to see my brother. The house was only empty for 10 minutes before my mum found it turned over.
“They ransacked our home and attacked our dogs – my three pugs are literally my life. They were so scared they were sick everywhere. They locked all the dogs in a room.”
Amy’s former castmate on TOWIE Lauren Goodger recently had her business petrol bombed, and in the same interview Amy revealed that her dad’s flower business was broken into for the fourth time.
Although the Whitney comparison is a strange one to make, our heart goes out to Amy and we hope that things look up for the Essex beauty soon.
