Emeli Sande has said that she is proud to be part of a BRIT Awards that celebrates credible stars once again.
The 'Our Version Of Events' singer will be at the awards to pick up her prize for Critics Choice tonight, an award previously won by the likes of Jessie J and Adele. Speaking to The Sun about her feelings for the event, Sande said:
"It's exciting because it's all about being credible again.” Adding: “The focus is on singer/songwriters now rather than huge shows. I mean, of course there's always a place for that too."

Speaking about her contemporaries in the UK charts and their songwriting abilities, Emeli is vocal in her support: "It's a huge thing to see young people really appreciating melodies and songs again. "I mean, there'll always be room for big productions and everything but it's good to see the other side.
Another BRIT Award nominee has particularly impressed too: "I watched Ed Sheeran recently and thousands of 16-year-olds were transfixed by him. It was only him and his guitar – it was an arena full of people."
The BRIT Awards take place tonight (Feb 21) at London's O2 Arena.
