Adam Lambert will perform with Queen at this year's Sonisphere festival, it has been confirmed today.
The iconic role of Queen's lead singer, made famous by Freddie Mercury, will be filled by American Idol star Adam Lambert for the duration of the festival - which hits the UK on July 6-8.
Kiss will headline the first night (July 6) with Queen topping the bill on the second night (July 7). Faith No More will round off the weekend with a headline slot on Sunday (July 8). Other names confirmed for the metal festival include Marilyn Manson, Incubus, The Darkness and Evanescence.
Tweeting about his role with Queen, Adam Lambert said: “Sorry to be coy about the details the past few weeks, but I made a promise to keep it under wraps as best I could. Gonna be a surreal night!”
Tickets for Sonisphere go onsale on Thursday (February 23) at 9am (GMT).
