Blur will join New Order and The Specials at a special concert to mark the end of the Summer's Olympics in London it has been announced today.
The huge concert will take place in London's Hyde Park On August 12th 2012 and will see Blur headlining. The band will be at tonight's BRIT Awards (Feb 21) to collect the Outstanding Contribution To Music award.
A post on Blur's official Facebook page reads: "We're rowing in.. going for gold.. grabbing the baton.. for the high jump.. No, hang on, is that right? Fact is, Blur have accepted the invite to headline the Olympics' Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert in Hyde Park on 12th August."
It was revealed yesterday that Blur will play for over ten minutes at the BRIT Awards tonight - longer than anyone has ever been on stage for at the awards.
Tickets for the Blur, New Order and The Specials show on August 12th will be available from Friday (February 24) at 9am.
