If the first episode of Let’s Dance For Sport Relief is anything to go by, then viewers are in for a big treat this series! A massive 6.5 million viewers tuned in on Saturday to watch hosts Alex Jones and Steve Jones present a whole host of hilarious dance routines performed by celebrities.
EastEnders double act Tameka Empson and Laurie Brett, who play Kim Fox and Jane Beale on the popular soap, went straight to the live final on March 17 with their show-stopping performance of the hit ‘Telephone’ as Beyonce and Lady Gaga.
Following the girls’ hilarious routine, Let’s Dance For Sport Relief judge Graham Norton remarked: “You could have heated your tea up on that. It was hot. Hot. Hot!”
Inbetweeners star Greg Davies added: “I haven’t actually seen the original Lady Gaga video but it can’t have been better than that. Honestly half way through I just started roaring like a lion.”
Funnyman Keith Lemon was also bowled over by Tameka and Laurie, telling the girls: I got all butterflies in my thighs and it went to my hidden bits. It was amazing.”

Performances from JLS and Jessie J
Also through to the final from the first heat was comedian Terry Alderton, who bravely strutted his stuff to Proud Mary by Tina Turner, wearing a characteristic short Tina Turner-esq flapper dress and wig.
Although they didn’t make it through to the final, veteran radio DJs Tony Blackburn and David Hamilton performed a very energetic rendition of ‘Push It’ by Salt ‘n’ Pepa, which is probably a good thing as they’re a bit too old to be leapfrogging over each other!
Shooting Stars panellists Angelos Epithemiou and Ulrika Jonsson executed a sexy Moulin Rouge style tango, and the former Strictly Come Dancing winner and cricketer Darren Gough showed off his Strictly skills with an enthusiastic mambo.
Musical performances came courtesy of JLS who sang ‘Do You Feel What I feel’ and Jessie J also performed her hit number one song ‘Domino.’
Still to dance on the show are Amy Childs and Harry Derbidge, Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, singer Olly Murs, and comics Omid Djalili and Rowland Rivron – we can’t wait!!
