'The Descendants' and 'Midnight In Paris' were among the big winners at last night's Writers Guild of America Awards.
The ceremony honoured the achievements of scriptwriters in film, TV and radio.
Woody Allen picked up the Best Original Screenplay accolade for 'Midnight In Paris', starring Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams, a category he is also nominated in at next week's Academy Awards. He beat Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo's 'Bridesmaids', as well as '50/50', 'Win Win' and Diablo Cody's 'Young Adult'.

Alexander Payne's 'The Descendants' scooped Best Adapted Screenplay, beating the book-to-screen transfers of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', 'The Help', 'Hugo' and 'Moneyball'.
In the TV categories, 'Breaking Bad', 'Modern Family', 'The Simpsons' and 'Homeland' were among the winning shows.
'The Help's director and screenwriter Tate Taylor was handed the Paul Selvin Award for special achievement.
'The Artist' and 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' were awarded screenplay honours at last week's BAFTA Awards. Neither were nominated by the WGA.
