Whitney Houston's public funeral gave way to a private burial service today in New Jersey, allowing family to bid their beloved Whitney a fond farewell...
Oh we know. The Whitney stories are becoming slightly tiresome, aren't they? But, following the public funeral attended by thousands yesterday, the late singer is finally being laid to rest today in an intimate family ceremony.
And we hope she finds the peace she deserves.
Her silver casket was escorted to the ceremony by police, in the now familiar gold-painted hearse on Sunday morning. Whitney is to be buried at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield alongside her father, John Russell Houston Jr.
A heavy police presence is expected to surround the burial; this seems to be a necessary precaution, as fans have already flocked to the ceremony and gathered along the route, bidding their goodbyes to the star.
The closest family and friends of Whitney deserve a moment to remember their most dazzling star; fingers crossed this goodbye will be allowed to take place in solitude, as they had hoped.
And, for one last time, we'd like to take the moment to say that we will always love you Whitney.
Rest in Peace, Whitney...
