A former winner of hit BBC One series The Apprentice is suing Lord Alan Sugar, it has been reported.

Stella English, who triumphed in the 2010 run of the reality series, is taking legal action for "constructive dismissal", according to the Daily Mail.

Sources have told the paper that the unhappy champion's relationship with Sugar is "extremely bitter", and that she's been strongly advised against challenging him to a legal battle.

She was initially given a job with Viglen following her success, but then complained at being placed in junior role below a manager who was on a significantly lower salary. She was then moved to YouView, but then quit two months before her contract ended, because she was told it wouldn't be renewed.

"Lord Sugar had tried to help Stella. When she was unhappy in one job he moved her. But it was Stella who left just two months before the contract ended, she was desperate to go," the insider claimed.

Neither Sugar nor English have made an official comment.

Yasmina Siadatan, who won the series before English's year, is now the only winner of The Apprentice to still be working for Sugar. She is currently on maternity leave.

Tom Pellereau, 2011's victorious candidate, became a business partner of Sugar as part of a revamped system.
