Robert Pattinson has revealed that he thinks he would be too old to reprise his role as Edward Cullen in any further instalments of the ‘Twilight Saga’.

In news that will break heart of ‘Twihards’ all over the world, the floppy haired heartthrob admitted that if Stephanie Meyer decided to write any further books that someone else would have to take up the role of the sexy vampire.

There has been speculation that Stephanie intends to add to the first four books of the 'Twilight Saga' which would mean further films after the second 'Breaking Dawn' installment.

According to ITN he said: “I'd be curious what Stephenie would write, but I just think I'd probably be too old."

"I'm already too old. But yeah, it'd be kind of interesting.”

With Edward eternally a fresh-faced 17 year-old it may be difficult for him to hang onto the part as he could be nearing 30 by the time the film is made, news that is sure to disappoint his loyal army of fans.

Those screaming supporters were out in force for the world premiere of his newest film ‘Bel Ami’ at the Berlin Film Festival.

The film, co-staring Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman sees the 25 year-old take on the role of a master-seducer in the late 19th century.
