Whitney Houston’s on-off boyfriend Ray J has finally spoken out about the singer’s tragic death.
The 31 year-old was involved with the singer for four years and was by her side in the final days before her death.
According to US Weekly, he said in a statement: "Nippy, I miss you so much! You were so happy and full of love. "Your smile will live in my heart forever."
The brother of singer Brandy, Ray J raced to the Beverly Hilton Hotel upon learning of the star’s death and was seen with her hysterically upset daughter, Bobbi Kristina moments before news of the death broke.
He went on: “Over the past few days, I've tried to process the emptiness that I am experiencing. What my heart feels cannot be expressed in words.”
"The world lost an icon, but I lost my close friend." He added.
Ray J was with the ‘I Will Always Love You’ singer when she made her final performance on the Thursday before she was found dead in her hotel room.
A source told US Weekly, that they were spotted cuddling before she jumped on stage for a duet of ‘Yes, Jesus Loves Me’ with Kelly Price.
The rapper sought comfort from his sister, singer Brandy on Saturday night at her 33rd birthday party.
He was seen looking downcast as he clung to his sister who only managed a small smile when her birthday cake was presented.
