A producer who worked with Whitney Houston on her final recording session has been remembering the ‘fun-loving’ singer.
Harvey Mason Jr. worked with Houston on February 7, just four days before her death last weekend. The superstar was working with Mason on a recording of ‘Celebrate’, a duet with Jordin Sparks for the soundtrack of Houston’s upcoming film ‘Sparkle’.
The producer met with the singer at a recording studio in North Hollywood late in the evening. Mason has told People magazine that Whitney was “all smiles and feeling really positive.” After listening to music and joking around Whitney entered the recording booth to lay down her vocals:
“She got in the booth, started her vocal session with a prayer as she always did and then worked for about three to four hours. We ended the session dancing around the control room while she said ‘Turn it up! Turn it up!’ She was so fun-loving.”
The producer goes on to insist that Whitney was not over-worked saying the superstar was "excited" to be recording, “she was worried about her fans but there was no undue pressure.”
It’s yet to be determined whether Whitney's final song ‘Celebrate’ will be released, Houston hadn’t completed her vocal sessions before her death. Her film ‘Sparkle’ however has had it’s original US release date of August confirmed by Sony.
