'The King's Speech' continues its success with a new stage adaption in the West End.

The story of King George VI, played by Colin Firth, was adapted into a play following the movie's success and had it's world premiere two weeks ago. After a nationwide tour it's been confirmed that the play will have a residency at Wyndhams Theatre in the West End on March 22nd.

The film's writer David Seidler originally wrote his story for the stage but the script was later turned into a screenplay leaving the stage version unproduced until this month.

Seidler actually began writing the script, based on King George's problems with a stammer, in the 80's. The project was shelved when the Queen Mother, King George's wife, asked that the story not be bought to life until after her death.

The film went on to win four Oscars and take £261 million around the world.
