Clive Davis' representative has insisted that the record executive only had the late Whitney Houston's "best interests at heart" following allegations that he put the iconic singer on-stage before she was ready.
Whitney, who was close to Clive, died tragically over the weekend as she was preparing to attend a pre-Grammy Awards party organised by her mentor.
Reacting to comments made by Chaka Khan that the pre-Grammy Awards party should have been cancelled following Whitney's death, and Avant-garde singer Diamanda Galas, who called Clive a "colossal pig" for allowing Whitney back on the stage "before she was ready to perform", Contactmusic.com reports Clive's rep saying:
"Ms. Galas is entitled to her uninformed opinion, her Facebook post is wholly inaccurate and offensive.
"Clive Davis cherished Whitney and shares a mutual love for the Houston family. It is absolutely outrageous for anyone to suggest that Mr. Davis ever had anything but Whitney's best interest at heart."
