Madonna has taken another dig at Lady Gaga by claiming the ‘Born This Way’ star is “no Britney Spears”.
The queen of pop has grown bored with the constant comparisons with the 26 year-old singer and became touchy when asked what she thought of the star in the March issue of The Advocate.
According to US Weekly she said: "I have no thoughts. 'What's the question?'"
When asked why Lady Gaga’s has become such a gay icon, she answered cooly: “I can see that they connect to her kind of not fitting into the conventional norm. I mean, she's not Britney Spears.”
It isn’t the first time that Madonna has taken a shot at the singer, she made sly comments over the similarities between her 1989 song ‘Express Yourself’ and Lady Gaga’s hit ‘Born This Way’ last year.
She told Newsweek at the time: “"I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song. "I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was . . . interesting."
Madonna is known to be close with Britney Spears. They previously collaborated on the track 'Me Against The Music' and shared a kiss together during a MTV Video Music Award performance.
The 53 year-old must be getting tired of the young stars stealing her thunder. Her hotly anticipated Super Bowl performance at the start of this month, was over shadowed by M.I.A swearing into the camera. Madonna did not react well and slammed M.I.A as 'an irrelevant teenager'.
