Olly Murs has admitted he is slighted upset about being shunned in the Best British Male category at this year's BRITs.

Olly will perform at the event and he told the Daily Star "I'm really honoured that the BRITs have asked me to do it. It's incredible."

But he confessed, "To be nominated for 'British Single' again is great, but I would have liked to have been up for 'British Male'. It would have been nice to be nominated but no way would I have won."

The cheeky chap put forward a rather convincing argument to support his case.

"..last year I had two double platinum albums and three number one singles, so it would have been nice to have been given a chance," he said.

The 'Heart Skips A Beat' singer sees that song nominated in the British Single category but will strive to claim bigger prizes in 2013.

"It makes me more determined to work hard this year and hopefully make a new album and maybe get nominated next year," he said.

Meanwhile, in the build up to this year's performance, Olly has promised a performance that will live long in the memory.

He said he wants to "look back on it in 20 years' time and think: 'Wow.'"

Tune in on February 21 to see if he pulls it off.
