Whitney Houston's record label have apologised for raising the price of her albums following the stars death on Saturday (Feb 11).

Sony increased the price of all Whitney Houston albums on iTunes from £4.99 to £7.99 and then again to £9.99 on Sunday, the day after Houston's death. This move was criticised by fans who said the label were cashing in on the sad passing of an icon.

Issuing a statement, Sony apologised by saying: "Whitney Houston product was mistakenly mispriced on the UK iTunes store on Sunday. When discovered, the mistake was immediately corrected. We apologise for any offense caused."

Nevertheless, Whitney Houston's music is expected to feature heavily in the Official Charts on both sides of the Atlantic this week.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Whitney's funeral will take place in New Jersey on Saturday (Feb 18).
