Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is hard-working, of that we have no doubt, but he earns a fair buck too! And now, he's gone and found over £1 million worth of jewellery, gold and master tapes in the basement of his new restaurant.
Jamie's new place used to be an old HSBC bank in Manchester, and in his discovery were gold master tapes from New Order and Joy Division recording session which weren't properly stored away. A gun and expensive jewellery were also found in the lucky discovery.
A spokesman told The Sun: "If I knew exactly what was in those boxes I would not be able to comment on that for reasons of confidentiality. We cannot reveal the precise contents, but these are safe deposit boxes - there are bound to be valuables in there. If we did find anything illegal in there we would be required to notify police".
HSBC have since explained that they knew the items might have been there but couldn't take the haul with them because of the restrictions of the building.
"We were moving to a new site and wanted to transfer the safe deposit boxes. However [because the building is a Grade II listed building] National Heritage said we were unable to take the actual boxes with us, because they were part of the structure," the bank said in a statement.
Members from the bands New Order and Joy Division have yet to issue a statement about what's on the master tapes.
Tweeting earlier this week, Jamie wrote: "gotta check the vaults there amazing when the bank moved out they found 1 million unclaimed £ and loads new order originals jox (sic)"
