Whitney Houston was planning to accept a role on US X Factor before her death at the weekend.
Former X Factor USA finalist Stacy Ferguson, who has spoken about her confrontation with Whitney at a pre-Grammys party, has suggested the superstar was about to take a starring role on the new series of the show.
Ferguson claims that Whitney revealed her plans before the dramatic bust-up between the pair on days before her death. Whitney told Stacy she was seriously considering taking Simon Cowell's offer to appear on the show as a judge and mentor.
The judging panel for the second season will see two new members join after Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul failed to have their contracts renewed.
According to the former X Factor contestant, Whitney confided in her about her comeback plans at the Tru Hollywood nightclub on Thursday night:
"It seemed to me like she was excited about being back on television and being on such a big show.”
