Liam Hemsworth has spoken out over the infamous online video that appeared to show his girlfriend Miley Cyrus admit to smoking "way too much weed".
It has been repeatedly dismissed as a joke by Cyrus and her reps, and Hemsworth says he sympathises with the teen idol for the level of scrutiny she is under.
"She's in a room full of her best friends," he told Details magazine. "And you have one person who comes in there and videos it. The poor girl can't have one night where she can feel safe in her own world. It's ridiculous."
Admitting that she makes him "really happy", the 'Hunger Games' actor went on to speak about the beginning of their romance, whilst filming the romantic drama 'The Last Song'.
"When you start, you want to be professional, but when you're filming those scenes with someone and pretending to love them, you're not human if you don't feel something," he explained.
Earlier this month, Cyrus dropped out of a film role so she could concentrate on her return to pop.
