Harry Potter star Emma Watson is reportedly close to signing on for the female lead in a new 'Beauty And The Beast' film.
Guillermo del Toro is directing the movie, and the 'Pacific Rim' film-maker went on record last summer as saying the former Hermione Granger was his top choice for the job.
Total Film reports that she is now in the final stages of negotiations.
'Bridget Jones' Diary' adapter-in-chief Andrew Davies is in charge of the script, and the film will mark the first major telling of the story on the big screen since Disney's iconic smash hit in the 1990s.
Since leaving the wizarding franchise Emma has landed roles in 'My Week With Marilyn', 'The Perks Of Being A Wallflower' and 'Your Voice In My Head'.
Daniel Radcliffe has recently revealed that he constantly clashed with the star whilst they filmed the Harry Potter films.
