Who doesn’t just love a good romance? Even the hardest, most cynical of hearts can be melted by a passionate kiss in the pouring rain or a jaw-dropping dance number. As its Valentine’s Day we wanted to know what’s your go-to film to get you in the mood for luuuuurve….

'Titanic' is a heart-breaking tale of love on the famous ill-fated ship, but it’s also an unforgettable emotional journey featuring Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack, a poor artist, and Kate Winslet, who plays the rich but unhappy Rose. Despite coming from different backgrounds the two fall passionately in love until they are ripped apart by tragedy.

'The Notebook' is an all-time girlie favourite. It’s an outstanding and touching love story about star-crossed lovers Allie and Noah, played by Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. They are deeply in love but run into trouble at every turn, however their story proves that love really does conquer all, even age.

'Dirty Dancing' remains as popular today it was when it was released in 1987. Baby (Jennifer Grey) a good girl from a well-to-do family falls in love with Johnny (Patrick Swayze), and their stunning dance to "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" at the end of the film remains one of the most iconic romantic movie scenes ever.

'Moulin Rouge' is a decadent and beautiful musical from director Baz Lurhman. Nicole Kidman is the beautiful courtesan Satine and Ewan McGregor is the hopeful writer who comes to Paris, where becomes her lover. Their union is ultimately doomed but the tragedy makes it one of the most romantic movies you’ll ever see.

'Notting Hill' stars the wonderfully bumbling Hugh Grant, as an ordinary man from West London that falls madly in love with Anna, a glamorous Hollywood actress played by Julia Roberts. Featuring a star-making turn from Rhys Ifans in his baggy grey y-fronts, this romantic film is one of the few that won’t have you in floods of tears at the end of the film.

'Grease' is a feel-good romantic film featuring the love story of Danny (John Travolta), the leader of the T-Birds, and Sandy (Olivia Newton-John), the new girl in town who is inducted into the Pink Ladies. Full of catchy songs, brilliant dance moves, and quotable lines, this is the classic story of good girl meets bad boy that you can’t help but love (even if you love it in secret).

'Ghost' is an emotional film about how love conquers everything, even death. Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Demi Moore) are happily in love, until one dark night when he is murdered and then he must save Molly from the people that want to harm her – but she can’t hear him because he’s a ghost! It’s a classic for many reasons (mainly the iconic pottery scene), and features a hilarious Whoopi Goldberg as a psychic who is the only person who can communicate with him.

'Pretty Woman' is an iconic twist on the classic Cinderella story. Starring Julia Roberts as the prostitute with a heart of gold and Richard Gere as the wealthy businessman who falls in love with her after hiring her for a week. Despite its dark subject matter, it’s an undeniably heart-warming romantic comedy which shot a young Julia Roberts to fame.

'How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days' is a ridiculous but entertaining comedy about Andie, a journalist who comes up with an idea for an article about how she can completely turn off a guy in just 10 days. She of course meets Benjamin, an ad executive who brags that he can make a woman fall head in love with him in just 10 days. Starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey this film is perfect for people who love their romantic comedies frothy.

When Harry Met Sally stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan as Harry and Sally, two friends who go through disastrous relationship after disastrous relationship, before realising that maybe they can be more than friends. The film is famous for Meg Ryan’s hilarious fake orgasm in Katz’s Deli and features the scene's classic punchline – "I'll have what she's having.”
