Angelina Jolie has flown to Bosnia for the premiere of her controversal new movie 'In The Land of Blood and Honey.'
The film which marks the actress' directorial debut is a fictional love story set against the genocide of Bosnia's war in the 1990's. It will be shown in Sarajevo for the first time tonight but it has already attracted controversy. , but it already has touched off anger left over from the conflict. A distributor in the Serb part of Bosnia said he won't show the film there because it portrays Serbs as the villains and "there is simply no interest for this movie here, so I can't sell any tickets."
About 5,000 people are expected ato attend the screening in Sarajevo, which Angelina is expected to attend with her partner Brad Pitt. Ange told reporters that the premiere will be a "moving" experience:
"I'm nervous and I'm excited. I'll probably cry through the entire thing. I'll be very, very moved because, of course, a lot of the people coming are the victims of war so it's going to be heavy."
Meanwhile Angelina's film was honoured at the Berlin Film Festival last night. The actress received the Cinema For Peace prize which goes to film makers promoting the values of humanity. The festival is also set to honour Bafta winner Meryl Streep tonight.
