Gary Barlow will reportedly return to The X Factor this year, with a huge pay rise finally convincing the Take That star to take his place on the panel for a second year.
It is claimed that Barlow, who made his X Factor debut in 2011, will receive a pay rise to ensure his return. The new figure is not yet known but it is believed that Barlow was paid £1.5m last year.
Confirming that he is in discussions with show bosses, Barlow told The Sun: "I started talks two weeks before the last one finished. We are talking."
Meanwhile, an insider explains that Simon Cowell feels that the shows falling ratings would slide further without Gary: "Gary loved being on the show and genuinely wants to be back.
"While viewing figures were down a few million, the feeling is it would have been worse without Gary."
It is expected that Tulisa and Louis Walsh will both come back to The X Factor in 2012 but Kelly Rowland will not.
