Bobby Brown has spoken out for the first time about his daughter Bobbi Kristina who has suffered an “emotional breakdown” following the death of her mother Whitney Houston.
The rapper confirmed that she had sought medical treatment for her grief and was now on the mend at home.
According to People Magazine a statement issued by the rapper said: "My daughter did visit with doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles."
"She has been released and is presently with my family including her siblings."
The 18 year-old and only child of the late singer sought medical attention twice in the aftermath of her mother’s death on Saturday.
She was first taken to hospital on Saturday night after visiting the hotel room where her mother had been pronounced dead only hours earlier. She then returned to hospital on Sunday morning.
Her father, rap star Bobby Brown was on tour with his group ‘New Editions’ when he heard the news of his ex-wife’s death. He returned to Los Angeles on Sunday night to comfort his teenage daughter.
The statement went on: “Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her. "However we will get through this tragedy as a family."
The news of Whitney Houston’s death at the age of 48 shocked fans around the world. The multi-award winning artist had a long running battle with drug addiction and had been partying hard during her final few days.
President Obama issued a statement earlier today expressing his concern for Bobbi Kristina as she struggled to come to terms with her mother’s sudden death.
