New parents Jay-Z and Beyonce skipped the Grammy’s Sunday night for a quiet night and a pizza.
The golden couple were a no-show on music’s biggest night of the year. They let other stars like Adele, Rihanna and Katy Perry take the spotlight on the red carpet and instead headed to their favourite Italian restaurant in New York.
According to US Weekly the couple took their Maybach to the Brooklyn for an evening at their favourite posh pizzeria ‘Lucali’.
While the cream of the music world partied in Los Angeles the couple enjoyed a well-earned break from parenthood. With baby Blue Ivy only a month old they are sure to be still getting used to sleepless nights and nappies.
An eyewitness said: "They were sitting in front of the place closer to where they make the pizza."just like a regular couple talking and whatnot."
Though the pair were left alone by fellow diners one man couldn’t resist offering his congratulations to new father Jay-Z which he graciously accepted.
The source explained: “He said, 'Thank you,' shook our hands, and said 'Have a good night.'”
The couple released the first adorable photos of baby Blue Ivy on Friday and unlike other celebrity couples, posted them on a tumblr site rather than selling the snaps.
