Celine Dion has pulled no punches in her assesment of Whitney Houston's life and untimely death today, appearing to criticise the late star for being ruined by drink and drugs.
Dion spoke out on Good Morning America in a phone interview with the US chat show.
Blaming Whitney's well documented addictions, Dion said: "It's just really unfortunate that drugs, bad people, bad influences took over her dreams, her motherhood,"
Adding: "When you think about Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson . . . To get into drugs like that for whatever reason--because of stress, bad influence, whatever."
In what could be seen as an insensitive moment, Dion went on to say she would never find herself in the same situation as Whitney Houston: "What happens when you have everything? Love, support, motherhood."
"Something happens that I don't understand. That's why I'm scared of show business, of drugs and hanging out. That's why I don't go to parties!"
Has Celine gone too far with her comments? Or is she just being honest?
Whitney Houston RIP
