Newly single Lydia Bright has revealed that the only reason why she's in The Only Way Is Essex is because of her ex-boyfriend, James Argent.
Speaking about how she got on the show, the star, who revealed in a recent interview that being in a relationship with James was killing her, told Reveal magazine:
"Mark Wright was in talks with TOWIE producers about starting up the show and they wanted to meet his mates, so James got involved.
"James was really upset over our split and he talked about me to the producers.
"I knew Lauren Goodger and Sam Faiers too, and they'd mentioned me in their meetings, so the producers must have been wondering who this Lydia was! They flew out to Spain to meet me and asked me to get involved."
With nothing to lose, Lydia added: "I thought, 'Nothing ventured, nothing gained'. They flew me home a week later and I was filming the next day, so being in TOWIE is all down to splitting up with Arg! I was really devastated about it, but everything happens for a reason."
Despite splitting from James, 21 year-old Lydia has admitted that she's not ready to leave the show just yet.
She said: "I won't be leaving any time soon. I hope TOWIE lasts as long as possible so I can sustain this amazing lifestyle I have. I feel lucky because the show has opened up so many doors for me."
